Soo Line SD60 6020 from an Overland Models SD60 model.
This model started out as a unpainted late 1980's run of Soo SD60's from Overland Models. The model was pretty tarnished so it required more paint preperation than anything. The only changes I made to the base model was to install Overland Models ditchlight castings (and drill holes to wire them) and to replace the cast brass beacon with a Precision Scale part.
Everything was abrasivized and washed with hot soapy water and then dried. The unit was primed with Floquil Primer. The next color sprayed was Scalecoat I white, then the unit was masked and Floquil Soo Line red was sprayed. Then, the grilles and walkways were masked off and sprayed Floquil grimy black. The mechanism and sideframes were sprayed with Scalecoat I loco black. Decals are Microscale. The unit was semi glossed with half Testor's dullcoat and half Testor's glosscoat mixed with lacquer thinner, assembled and tested.
