NBEC/CFMG SD40 from a Kato SD40. This a Canadian shortline/regional that I had never heard of till someone asked me to build it. I don't know too much about it except that they have about a dozen secondhand former CP Rail SD40's.
Although not 100% accurate, the Kato shells were modified to better represent the Canadian built SD40's. Headlights were lowered, bells added, dynamic brakes removed, a new Cannon and Company rear end was installed to get the verticle rear light, pilot faces rebuilt, horn and roof conduit added, etc etc.
Paint is Floquil Engine black and Reefer white. Decals are by Highball Graphics. Semiglossed with half Testor's glosscoat mixed with half Testor's dullcoat thinned with lacquer thinner.
North Coast Engineering decoders installed along with new lighting and operating ditchlights.
