Rock Island U28B 981 from a Proto 2000 model

Chicago and North Western never had any U28B's, and this is a "what-if" type of model.

Chicago and North Western 981 started out as a factory painted Proto U28b that I dismantled and stripped. After paint removal, I added a Details West plow, wheel slip modulators, Detail Associates gong bell and Precision scale beacon, along with A-Line photoetched sunshades.
After a thorough abrasive blasting, everything was washed and dried. Paint consisted of Floquil primer, then Scalecoat II white. The yellow is Floquil CNW yellow with more orange added, and the green is Testor's Model Master Japanese Imperial Navy Green. The black is Floquil engine black. The decals are a combination of Microscale and the clearcoat is part Testor's glosscoat and part Testors Dullcoat.
